Two rubbish related items:

1) The peddlers arms people popped up on Sunday to say they had been having a clear out and there was a load of old data tapes and electronic bits in the bins if we wanted them. I fished out a couple things - some very satisfyingly heavy enclosures - and a couple of the tapes (the cases look like they might be useful). There's more tapes and possibly more stuff if anyone is at the space and fancies braving the rain and diving in.

2) I took about 50 pizza boxes, 2 rubbish bags and load of misc. cartons down to the tip. I know the bins are far away (actually to be fair they are often pretty full and need to be climbed in and stomped on) but when it piles up like that, a couple of things happen: a) we attract rats and b) we eat up space better used for stacking useful things in. If people could make it a routine to just grab something and throw it in the bin on the way out I think the problem would go away.

Thanks,
/Sam

To be clear, I'm not being snarky and I am happy to ferry stuff to the tip when I have a car, which I did today.

Thank you for the notice (I do like exciting things in bins) and thank you for having a tidy up.

If I remember right, then the bins are usually emptied early Wednesday morning, so the Tuesday's I've been about (though not recently) I tend to try and have a tidy up then. I believe the bin furthest away is recycling (though obviously none of this helps if they're already full to bursting).

Hmm... we need to stop using anything but 1 per-prescribed bin for food waste; it's causing problems. Pizza box massacre at the end of Tuesday's maybe?

Any thoughts/plans from anyone involving our rubbish/recycling ways?

Thanks again for having a tidy,

Fligg :)
