I am a complete novice with computers,  I know how to work them ish so beginner I guess

Still not exactly sure how to use this - however I am also interested in the 3d printing induction.

I have a resin 3d printer and have printed quite a few things with that - so I am familiar with getting or creating STL’s, hollowing, and supporting them, slicing and sending them to print, all on a basic level. 

However I have never used the type of 3d printers at Hackspace, so I would be a novice using those, these are the ones I have small projects in mind for, so would love the induction. 

I am retired and can attend pretty much anytime.

I will be running a 3d printer induction at 6pm Thursday 7th May.

Pre-requiste

• hackspace member who's completed initial induction
• no previous experience necessary (if you have previous experience ask as I can run a version for you at another time)
• minimum 2 attendees to make it worth while
• approx 2hrs in length

Is there any prep I need to do? Like software installed on my laptop? What's the make and model of the printer so I can read up in advance?

Hi Graham,

no prep needed, all the info is given out on the day, and you'll leave with an instructional google form that takes you through setting up the software correctly and walks you through your 1st print.
3D printing can be a minefield of info and you can be easily led down the wrong path. I try to keep this intro as simple as possible and then you can continue to learn and upgrade your knowledge after the induction.
