Hello Leeds Hack Space team,

I hope you're all having a great weekend!

My name is Hayley and I work for FutureEverything, a Manchester-based arts and cultural organisation that has been helping to shape digital culture locally, nationally and internationally for almost 30 years.

I was hoping to speak with you about our new creative engagement programme coming to Barnsley, called PROTO. The programme is designed to nurture the growth of artists, and those looking to enhance their digital creativity, through skill development, digital learning and networking.

The programme aims to remove barriers to digital arts, ensuring that people with an interest in digital art, regardless of their background or experience level, have the opportunity to gain insight into digital practices, build confidence, and expand their knowledge.

You can find out more about the programme and the FREE activities taking place at the Civic in Barnsley this month by following the links below. On November 12th and 20th we'll be running two Tech-Lab session, which will explore some of the latest digital arts tools and technologies inc motion capture, 3d modelling, and Augmented Reality.

November 12th, 13:00 - 16:00

Get ready to unleash your creativity using 3D modelling and augmented reality in Wild Creations!
Join digital artist Nicholas Delap for a hands-on session through a two-part creative journey. First, dive into the world of 3D sculpting using ZBrush, a powerful yet user-friendly digital arts tool. In part two, you will learn how to bring your creations to life in augmented reality. Using Spark AR, a free AR platform, you will get to showcase your artwork in the real world, all through a custom Instagram filter. This is your chance to blend tech, art, and the natural world in a fun and creative way!

November 20th, 13:00 - 16:00
Whether you are a digital newbie or have a keen interest in animation and motion capture, this session is your chance to dive into the art of capturing movement.
Led by Dr. Lucie Sykes, you’ll learn how to use FREEMOCAP, a markerless motion capture system that allows you to explore movement and its capture. Lucie will guide you step-by-step through software installation, show you how to record your very first motion capture, and help you to create a unique animation sequence that brings your ideas to life.

December 5th, 19:00 - 21:30
PROTO Network event
Join fellow artists for a live digital cabaret network event hosted by drap performance artist Jonathan Meyer. The event combined facilitated activities, hands-on tech workshops, and networking opportunities, as well as live demos from established digital artist Alex Johannson.

I'd be extremely grateful if you could pass this message on to any folk that might be interested in taking part in the programme, especially the workshops next week.

Thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you soon.

Best,

Hayley
