That will have been me :-)

It's something we'd be happy to accommodate.

What sort of time frame are you thinking of?

Hi Jon,

Thanks for the offer, it's much appreciated! We were looking at the 15th December (a Saturday) as our preferred date. Would that work for you guys?

Gareth.

I don't mean to hassle you guys, but is Saturday 15th  OK for the Jam?  We would probably be aiming for something that ran for a few hours in the afternoon.

I'd like to start getting the word out fairly soon, so could you let me know if that's OK?

Thanks,
Gareth.

Hi Gareth

I have accumulated about 6 spare 5v 1000mA psu's for my Raspberry Pi's, as I led my self to believe it was the psu's making them crash, but it turns out is was the cables... I have since tested them and they all work with my new cables.

I was wondering if you would like to borrow them for the Jam, and would happily sell them for £2.50 each to anyone who want to be buy them afterwards.

Cheers, Morgan

Have you been to the space recently to see what facilities we do (and more
importantly don't) have? If not I strongly recommend you drop in on Tuesday
and have a look round. I don't really know what goes on at a Raspberry Jam,
or how many people you're expecting but there's a few things you should be
aware of:

- It will be cold. We have limited heating and no insulation. Filling the
space with people helps, but the temperature is generally substantially below
normal room temprature.
- We have a moderate amount of desk space/seats, probably about 8-10 desks
worth.
- Lounge area with TV seats maybe 6-8 people
- Maximum practical accupancy is probably about 20 people.
- Limited scope for presentations. You'd need your own projector and
freestanding screen, even then I think you'd struggle to do a presentation to
more than about a dozen seated people.
- The large room accross the hall next door does not belong to us.

If you're happy with these limitations then (based on informal discussions
this weekend) I think we're OK.

Paul,

Thanks for the details on the space. Given that is is our first attempt at one of these events we don't really know what we need either, so I think it's worth giving it a go. If it doesn't work out for some reason then we can always reconsider. I think the main thing is getting the ball rolling, and getting people to come along.

Unfortunately I don't think I'm going to be free to make it to next Tuesday's open night, so I'm not going to be able to get down before the 15th. As I said though, I'm happy to continue with the event given the limitations you've described.

Gareth.

Morgan,

Spare PSUs would be great, thanks.

Gareth.
