HI Hackspacers!
I know the coldness of the Space has been a topic of conversation. Unfortunately the style of the building means it will never be warm in this weather but we can try to make it warmer.
The heaters we have aren't great and are extremely expensive to run so we need to put a few rules in place to ensure we don't eat through the bank account:
- First of all please bring extra layers
- The heaters can be turned on Tuesdays 5-10pm, Thursday 5-10pm, Saturdays 12-8pm and then anytime there's 5 or more people in.
- Please only put the heaters on in the areas you are working
- If you turn the heater on it is your responsibility to turn it off. If there is someone else still in the Space and rule 2 is still relevant please ensure you pass this responsibility on and that person is aware
- DO NOT LEAVE THE HEATERS ON IF YOU ARE LEAVING THE SPACE. If you think you'll forget to turn them off before you leave put something in place to ensure you remember or don't turn them on.
Sorry if I sound harsh but Rule 0 still applies in the artic circle and we also do not have a bottomless bank account. Any questions please reach out to me, Alex or Kieran.
And on a side note we are working to on more efficient heating...
Happy hacking,
Katie
