Hi,

I like tinkering with creative projects and am interested in some of your machines, 3D printing, laser cutting and CNC machines in particular. 

Would it be possible to come and have a look round some time? Can I also check where you're based these days? I thought you were next to the old Enterprise office, but I wasn't sure whether someone else has moved in since Enterprise moved across the road.

Would it be possible to find out what type of materials can be used on the various machines? Can people supply their own or do they have to purchase materials from Hackspace?

Hi Claire,

Sounds like Leeds Hackspace could be the spot for you.

We have an open evening every Tuesday 7-10pm and the 2nd Saturday of the Month from 11am-3pm. If you can’t make any of those sessions let us know and we will see if we can sort out a visit at another time.

We are still in the unit between the 2 enterprise units. The old Enterprise office has been re-rented to a company called Bridge-It but we are still there.

Machine wise all of the ones you mention need an induction to cover the basics and the dos and fonts with the Hackspace machines.

Currently

3d printers members bring their own filament.

Laser cutting we have a supply of laser ply and acrylic for sale to use although other material can be brought by the members as long as it’s on the approved list that doesn’t cause noxious gases or damage to our machine.

CNC’s are member supplied materials although there is generally a scrap pile that may have stuff suitable to be used.
