Important: Leeds Hackspace: Change of Directors

On Wednesday 11th January Daniel Fligg, Nic McHardy, Joe Corcoran and Mark Wainwright met to discuss Nic McHardy stepping down as director. 

Nic has been working tirelessly on behalf of Leeds Hackspace for a number of years now and myself and the rest of the membership owe her a massive debt of thanks. A lot of you will have seen all the front of house work Nic has done making the space more welcoming and habitable, but you probably aren’t aware of all the work she’s been doing behind the scenes. If you like the fact that Leeds Hackspace survived Covid, or that our bills have been getting paid on time or countless other things around the space, then know Nic is responsible for a lot of it. Please take the time to give her the thanks she deserves..

Nic leaving would have resulted in me (Fligg) being the only legal director for the Hackspace, which isn’t ideal. During the meeting, it was decided, in accordance with Hackspace memorandum, that the current directors would reinstate Joe as a director to fill in the gap. Please give Joe a massive thanks for being willing to do this again..

There will be little change to day to day running of the Hackspace as Joe has already been stepping up to help with director duties for several months. Nic will also still be around helping out when she can.
