Hello,
Good afternoon Emma,
Thank you for your email.
Unfortunately, our digital support is more beginner level, such as how to send emails or browse this internet. Your query is beyond what we would be able to support.
You could contact Leeds Hackspace, a group tech enthusiasts, as someone there may be able to offer some guidance. You can find them here: A Bit About Us - Leeds HackspaceLeeds Hackspace | A Maker and Hacker Space in Leeds
I hope you are able to find some help.
Kind regards,
Emma

Subject: Changing operating system
You don't often get email from stepup...@protonmail.com. Learn why this is important
Hi,
I use an old Dell laptop that was donated to me by a charity. It uses an operating system called Ubuntu/Linux.
I would like to change the operating system to download and use WordPress.org for my website. The current Linux system on my laptop failed to download it. It has also failed to download several basic apps e.g. VPN, screen dimmer, photo editor, Teams etc.
I have used Windows and Mac before, and Linux is the most limited operating system I have encountered. Over the last few months, I realised the only option is to change the operating system.
The charity that donated the laptop encouraged me to visit Citizens Online to help me with this, and I also used goodthingsfoundation.org to find digital inclusion centres. They both showed the library offers digital support.
May I know if the library can help me change the operating system?
Best,
Emma
