This Saturday 11th july Leeds Erotica Festival presents the first ever MATA HARI CLUB!
*** The Mata Hari Club ***
The Library Pub, Woodhouse Lane, Leeds
Doors open 7.30pm. First performance at 8.30 sharp!
Entrance £5 inc free memebership to The Mata Hari Club (entitling you to reduced £3 entrance at future Mara Hari Club meetings.
Inspired by The Leeds Savage Club, The Mata Hari Club aims to bring together those people interested in the aventgarde and erotic arts including music, literature and performance.
Members of The Mata Hari Club celebrate eccentricity, expression, debauchery, discussion, caddishness, intellectualism and drunkeness.

Illustrator Geoff Banyard, creator of “Fetish Man”, the surreal, alternative comic book which allows you to follow the adventures of Fetish Man and his friend Lactose Intolerant Boy! Also highly stylised and often subversive art works such as the recent set seen at the Leeds Erotica Festival which gives a new take on the laws defining bans on extreme images.

*** EROTIC CONTEMPORARY DANCE ***
Slanjayvah Danza present Blind Passion!
Devised through passion for dance, and the body as a work of art in itself, the performance has evolved into an explosion of seductive delights.
"Blind passion - Live Cut" is a fusion of Contemporary Dance, Tango and Contact. One of 3 stories that explore passion, this work demonstrates the beautiful side of the definition of "Passion". "Passion cannot be described, only experienced" - Jenni Wren.
With the use of blindfolds, the dancers show great trust and honesty towards each other to tell their tale. Through intricate contact work sprinkled with Tango influences, the dancers and choreography move smoothly, each section subtly becoming more revealing and dynamic, challenging the audience with intrigue and question.

A chance to buy victorian erotica postcards, a special guest compare and a visit from Mata Hari herself!
A night NOT to be missed!
Our club is named after our most apt representative Mata Hari: the beautiful and promiscuous exotic dancer and courtesan who was executed by firing squad for espionage during the 1st Worl War. This follows in the footsteps of The Savage Club which was named, "in a frolicsome humour" for Richard Savage, "...a thoroughly disreputable actor and playwright of Dr Johnson's time who killed a man in a brawl and was later imprisoned for debt".
