Hi All

I am new to ledger but following the instructions on ledger-cli.org,I managed to get 3.2.1 built from source in my local account on a linode 2GB debian 10 server.

What do I have to do to make the compiled version in my local directory available system?
I have root/sudo privledges.   Should I have compiled as root?  I tried that once and it installed ledger under the  root home dir instead of /usr/bin etc.
Or are there directives I should have given to the acprep script?
TIA

Hello Randy,

I reckon, you can just say: apt install ledger

It might not be the newest version, but it's present in the repository: https://packages.debian.org/ledger

Worst case scenario, you do add it using Apt Pinning.

Regards,
Dan

Did `sudo make install` as suggested in https://github.com/ledger/ledger/blob/master/INSTALL.md not do the trick?  That should build and install into the default system directories.

Thank you Ajit.

sudo make install
seemed to do the trick.
I did not see this in the installation docs.
