Default Currency for an Account

I am new to ledger. So pardon me if this is answered before.

Can we set a default currency for an account? If not, is there a way to avoid entering currency symbol for every transaction entry?

No.

I'd argue this is a task that your import process should handle. How
do you get your data into ledger?

Sorry for the delayed response.

As of now, I did not start the import. I added expenses manually for the last couple of months (the start of financial year in my country) and when I tried to reconcile, I realized that I did not have the currency added.
