I got mine up and running. The initial boot seems longer than what I
would expect, is there some back door stuff going on to get to the
LED? However, once it is up and running, it seems pretty snappy and
have had no crash issues. I, personally, if possible would just make
it so that if the app is open, the light is on. Leave the app, light
off. No images, no touching. Just light or not. But that may just be
me. Otherwise it's great. Thanks a ton Kevin, will purchase this app
either way upon approval.

Thanks for the feedback Nick. Unfortunately, the initial boot time is due to the camera configuring and launching. Under the hood, you have to access the camera in order to get to the LED. There isn't any other way around it at the moment.

Regarding your light on comment, is the LED not turning on for you when you boot the app? By default, it should automatically come on? Or are you saying to strip it down and make it as simple as possible, meaning no images/buttons at all?

My guess was it was going into the camera APIs. By default, it did not come on automatically. I had to change the setting to enable that. However, I am saying I would like it stripped down as much as possible so it's more just a shortcut as opposed to an actual application. I don't see the need for having the screen active while the flashlight is on. If I am using the flashlight, it means I am having to use that light in a real world function. When I am done with the light, if I do not need to go to my phone, sleep key it. If I still need it, home key. While I get that it can be cool or fun, the fact that the light self terminates, in my eyes, negates having a on and off inside the application.

I also support the idea of the simplest interface possible as Nick
suggested. Also keep in mind that others will without a doubt make
free versions of the app. Maybe support it by ads yet keep it free?

I would rather pay .99 for app functionality that performs exactly as it should as opposed to a free app with ads. But once again, it may just be me, but oh how I hate advertisements.

I rather have iAds in the app but then the app would have to be free.

I don't mind iAds.

I H-A-T-E the other hijacking ads (ads that pull you out of app)

Are you sending out any beta versions of the app? I'd love to test it..

I agree Nick. I am trying to keep it as simple as possible. I have seen some other apps that some more flashy functionality, but I'm looking to go simple. I am definitely going to add more in future updates, but I want the core app to be "Start up, LED ON, close." The Auto-On feature should give you what you are looking for in this version.

I am not sure if an iAd model is going to be the right thing there here.  I think really the only way developers are going to generate a lot of money is to generate a lot of click throughs in their apps, and for a flashlight, I just dont think many people are even going to be looking at the screen, much less the ad.

For .99 cents, this is a pretty useful app.  If you think about it, its the same price as a bottle of Coke Cola.  Maybe I am a little biased, but I have used the app everyday since I made it.  Things like that are well worth the 99 cents to me.

I'm sure someone will make one free eventually, but I don't see that coming in the immediate future.

Hey all,

I haven't had a chance to test out the app, but I think a $.99 is the
way to go. Think about it, the next time you feel the urge to buy a
Twix, just don't and buy the app instead.

I am getting an error when I try and install the app to my phone. I
dragged the mobileprovision and the app itself to my applications
folder and attempted to sync. Heres what iTunes tells me:
