This morning woke it from sleep mode and found that apparently all the files(daemon&startap script, serviioweb and serviio directory itself) that I created last evening as root have disappeared. Other strange thing was that when I tried to reconnect with putty(same IP), it prompted for new SSH key as if the SSH server had generate another key.
I did this because it turns out the newer versions of UMS require v7. I got ums running in a vm but didnt have any media mounted. So I am curious as to how it compares to serviio. Ums requires no scanning...
I followed your guide and got the webui working. Thanks! With it you can at least see the full info on the folders being scanned. Still missing a little from the java console or its just different. I run that from my ubuntu desktop by adding -Dserviio.remoteHost=192.168.1.xx on to the end of the JAVA_OPTS variable.
Hi,
I have some strange issues with my web-console. I had instaled serviio for log time and works fine, but web-console not work at all. I ve done every thing same as you explaining in first post, except I ve used newest version from github. But when I go to I get a blank page.
So my usage scenario is that unraid is installed on the laptop lenovo x220 which is very cheap and with low power consumption and battery is the simplest way for home nas server. What I wanted is DLNA server (serviio), document sync between my laptop and stationary pc (owncloud) and general network disk (samba share).
4. Serviio - docker provided by community (riftbit/serviio) is working fine, but folder mapping was wrong. I have attached screenshot how it supposed to be done. If You wan't your dlna to be discoverable it is essential to configure network as host and don't map config folder as discovery goes over multicast address!!
I am happy to hear it is useful, even though a bit chaotic. I am not sure if I understand the problem. I have installed owncloud and serviio from community apps (not docker hub search). In first place it is better to use community package, if required software is not there then docker hub. I have found that community packages have some variables and settings exposed right away when installing so it is much easier to use package. I am attaching screen shot of the search results on my pc.
How is this helpful? Well, it shows you the anagrams of serviio scrambled in different ways and helps you recognize the set of letters more easily. It will help you the next time these letters, S E R V I I O come up in a word scramble game.
It works for me on Ubuntu 14.04. But it had some special installation because FFMPEG is needed voor Serviio but isn't included anymore in Ubuntu.
This is how i installed Serviio. Only i change "sudo apt-get install oracle-java7-installer" in "sudo apt-get install oracle-java8-installer"

Don't forget that Serviio only can connect tvheadend without login with password. So username=* password=* network prefix=ip of the network where serviio is installed.
There seem to be a problem with serviio.sh. The syntax inside assumes "bash" however the shebang specifies #!/bin/sh which is a directive to use POSIX compatible shell. While by default in arch sh points to bash, it is not a requirement to have bash as a fallback; both arch bash and dash documentation briefly touches upon POSIX compatibility.
After install use these commands to get it going .systemctl start serviio.service ( Starts the service and it will start at boot . )systemctl stop serviio.service ( Stops the service )systemctl status serviio.service ( Will show you the server status )
I have an init script (im running Debian) to start serviio a DLNA server. When i go to start the service i get the following error. Any help would be appreciated. Please note: I'm VERY new to linux/bash/debian.
I have used minidlna, mediatomb, serviio, and others on the LAN. I also launched bubbleUPNP on and an android connected to the wifi SSID. bubbleupnp server hosted on the android on wifi does appear to my client DLNA devices on wifi; The DLNA server on the wired LAN does not.
