Gentlemen – I have a pal, based in San Francisco who has an Orpheus preamp plus the mighty Orpheus (latterly, the legendry Meridian 107) stereo power amp for sale. Fully serviced by Dave Hall at Meridian. If interested then in the first instance, please email me at h...@no-alibi.demon.co.uk
My own 107 + 101b
was submitted by me with my 401s plus Linn / Grace 707 / Supex for review to a
very sceptical Phil Mount (you’ll know him today as HiFi World founder / editor
Noel Keywood) when he was at a long-defunct UK mag; the name of which escapes
me. He was, as indeed he should have been, astonished. I might be able to find
that review.
I remember him telling me face-to-face that it was one of the greatest systems (1978 I think) he’d ever heard anywhere and at any price.
The 107, hand built in tiny numbers is both a long lost legend and marginalised if indeed utterly ignored in Meridian’s official history – as indeed is the 102 phonostage.
Regards
Howard
