Weexperienced some trouble with the product and once we were able to contact customer support (no phone number accessible) their response was to buy another license. They refused to help troubleshoot the problem and had no record of our purchase!

Terrible customer service and terrible functionality. Good luck talking to customer support. They will just make sure you are licensed and within their usage agreement, all the while offering no good service at all. Complete waste of time and waste of money.

ABCpdf does a number of things that frankly nothing else does. What other components allow you to render HTML to PDF and identify where each HTML element ends up on the page? What other components allow you to render to CMYK with additional named separations? What other components allow you to import EPS and Flash? And these are just examples I can think of off the top of my head.

If people come to us saying that they are using our software but do not have a license for it then our response may be to suggest that perhaps they should have a license. Is this such an unreasonable request?

We had contact with both their support and sales team. Both experiences were helpful. General note: PDF handling is complicated, so some work needs to be invested here too. Would give it 4.5/5 if I could.

Powerful product, our PDF generation solution has been relying on abcpdf for years now without major issues. Whole API documented online. Object oriented approach simplifies some aspects of PDF handling.

I guess PDF was never meant to be accessed in a structured way, so handling can be difficult. Sometimes, usage feels odd (one can only interact with 1 active page - which can be freely changed though) but that does not limit functionality. Binaries for v9 are 37MB in total (yes, we still care about size), though that can be good if customer feels better for having paid for 1GB installer rather than 50MB installer.
