On the whole i would say Orbx is superior , i have the V1 version from Orbx and it very good but a little outdated now, obviously the Uk2000 latest release is bang up to date and aim sure is fine , also be aware that Orbx is releasing a V2 to compete with UK 2000 very soon apparently, check out some simmers on youtube at these airports , see what you think "Huddison" recently released a video reviewing the latest uk2000 version
ORBX version upgrade fee of approximately USD $5.00 (excluding taxes) for a completely rebuilt airport for existing customers of EGLC for Microsoft Flight Simulator vs. UK2000 fee of approximately USD $ 17.60.
Orbx's EGLC has some of its own London landmarks that do add quite a lot to the experience. The bridge at the end of the runway is properly modelled, there are buildings on the opposite side of the water and a large factory.
In general I have found that there are better alternatives to most of the UK2000 UK airports. For instance Bristol by Pilot Plus. The only two I've kept in the absence of any alternative are Luton and Jersey.
I've found both UK2000 and ORBX to be very good developers. I'm sure you woyld be fine with either though whilst they both have their pros and cons, I too have heard that ORBX are working on a v2 version.
It's going to be interesting to see whether UK2000's or Orbx's v2 is going to be the better rendition. Generally, UK2000 has been very average in MSFS, however, Orbx hasn't set the world alight recently either. I'll just have to wait for comparison reviews.
Whoever does EGLC it is very close to the center of London and if they did it in too much detail it could easily become a stutterfest, especially for those who use the ORBX London and FSLTL addons, etc.
