See the Firmware OpenWrt Install URL (stock to OpenWrt) and the Firmware OpenWrt Upgrade URL (upgrade existing) on the hardware data page to confirm you're getting the correct firmware.

Techdata: D-Link DSL-2750u C1 The development branch can contain experimental code that is under active development and should not be used for production environments. Snapshot images may support additional hardware; however, it is experimental,...

Hi all dear friends,
Many thanks to the developers. I installed this firmware over the stock one. Everything is fine, But Dsl functionality is not listed in device list.
Any help is appreciated.
By the way, I simply used CFE web ui.

Newbie Here. So, here is the whole story. I have an old router (model mentioned above) which I want to use as a repeater to extent the wifi converge. But the default firmware doesn't support this feature, that is why I am trying to install a custom firmware. But unfortunately, there is no official supported OpenWrt firmware for this model. So I was wonder will any others model's firmware will be compatible with with DSL-2750U?

I found a way to boot into CFE recovery mode without opening the box.
Turn off, push and hold the reset button, turn on, keep holding the reset button until the power LED become red.
go to and upload the new firmware.

Hi All,
I have the same router as D-Link 2750u. After fighting for last 3 days, I found that Chaos Calmer release for profile A4001N will work fine for this router. Of course the router name will come as A4001N but I don't mind that :)

As you might already know OpenWRT does not support ADSL. I am using the modem as a wireless extender. I am using this router(client) to connect to my main router (AP to which ADSL connection terminates) wirelessly and connect my desktop to the Client router through LAN. This was not working with the stock firmware. Thanks OpenWRT, you saved me some bucks, without this I would have to buy WiFi PCI card.

Just to summarize the steps,
- Assigning static ip to your machine which is connected to router using a LAN cable
- power off the router, press the reset, power on the router *keeping* the reset pressed, release after few seconds when the light goes red
- Point your browser to 192.168.1.1 (remember to clear caches of browser if you have problems in accessing the page)
- upload the firmware through the web interface, it will take few minutes and restart
- Remove the static ip for your machine and configure to do DHCP and Enjoy

EDIT: it dosent save any settings like wi-fi or even the admin password
I updated to the latest firmware from dlink " -link.co.za" - the source code for the firmware is there too but me "noob"
I have hardware revision T1
and the latest firmware is seems prity good
but im gona mess around and see if i can get the open wrt to save settings

So yousuf dident suply his hardware revision and there are - C1 - T1 and T3
there is a major difference in the flash layout of the stock firmware and the suggested A4001N
but it dose boot into failsafe mode
i have gone as far as compiling the openwrt from the source and have made FW that boots into failsafe as well - based on the platfrom and device mentioned by yousuf
but i dont understand enough to change the flash layout
if anyone can help ill be glad to post any info i have

so i saw a "newwer" D-link firmware and was worried about usb not working so i loaded it.
and usb works in stock firmware
but when i try to re flash any (96328avng) - jffs2 or squashfs -8M.bin i get

I had a TP Link WR 740n lying around. I came to know about dd wrt and successfully flashed dd wrt the first time on the router. I made some changes and setup the router as repeater of another router(D Link 2750u). I restarted the router. I noticed that after restarting, the gear icon on the router is not lit up(it is always lit up). I tried entering the router's IP address and failed. I then used TFTP utility to flash the stock file and did it successfully. Now again, i tried flashing dd wrt and after that the router's gear icon does not light up and the router doesn't work. Would be great if someone can help me flash dd wrt again.

What you should do, once the router is not bricked, is reset the router to default settings by holding down the reset button for a minute, then use the TFTP to install the DDWRT firmware but make sure you get a stable version, some of the newer beta DDWRT versions especially v3, are bricking many different routers and the best way to recover is to use an arduino.

As of like the later half of 2015, yes because there are some really wonky community builds and the "pros" are currently in a "fix it" mode. I was told that the best ddwrt firmware for especially the wzr-1750dhpd is the v27805 which also supports your router but from versions 1-5 and not version 6.

Okay..I need more help. When I go to status--->Wireless---->Site Survey, I can't find my root router's SSID(D Link 2750u) which is located right next to(as of now) the DDWRT router. I could see the root router's ssid before on the stock firmware.

The Google Hacking Database (GHDB) is a categorized index of Internet search engine queries designed to uncover interesting, and usually sensitive, information made publicly available on the Internet. In most cases, this information was never meant to be made public but due to any number of factors this information was linked in a web document that was crawled by a search engine that subsequently followed that link and indexed the sensitive information.

I had the same problem with the OS X support and I contacted the d-link support centre in singapore. After a few weeks and a couple of follow ups, they were able to send me a firmware upgrade that now seems to work ok with OS X (did not do too much testing yet).
So I would recommend you get in touch with the support centre there.

Wow, usually nobody reads my blog hehe, 13 comments is a record!! Some of these is pretty old, I'm sorry I only see them now end of January 2012 ^_^" , some of you probably won't ever return ^_^*" but I'll reply because I'm so impressed that people actually left comments!!

@Rece22:
To remove accounts, its actually pretty easy, my firmware bte is SE_1.00, you can see this on the top right corner of the router web interface.

So to remove on SE_1.00, go to
> Advanced tab (top)
> Storage Service (left side navigation),
> Go to User Accounts
> On that page and simply check the accounts you want to delete and hit the "remove" button at the bottom!

@Channu's Blog

Hey there, actually yeah, its not secure, anybody can access the information, on Windows, the password is not necessary at all when you want to browse the volume. And if you connect the storage device directly to a Mac or Windows, the whole volume can be browsed no password needed. This is a very basic file server, as basic as it gets looks like.

And its still read-only on the Mac, no official firmware updates available from D-Link.

@Victer

Update the firmware to SE_1.01 (originally its 1.0). It makes my whole post above obsolete, you access the root of the device by default.

First update the firmware, you'll have to redo all settings including your internet ISP settings, backups from 1.0 won't work on it. Once that's done, check the Router UI for your device name at Advanced > Storage Service > Storage Device Info, for example when I plug in my usb device it is listed as "usb1_1"

Lastly, access it from any Windows window with that name, this is my address for example:
"\\192.168.1.1\usb1_1"

Login username is admin and password admin, I don't see a way to change that at the moment.

i found something interesting for mac users

if you change the download directory of your p2p software like uTorrent to the usb on your dlink router, its able to write it!
this way you can connect a big storage disk to your router, download torrents on it through your system, and access those files on your network or on your smart tv!

I have Dlink 2750u. Like to know how can I enable dlna streaming.
On my previous DSL modem+router! I used to stream YouTube videos to smart tv. Now after this dlink modem.. I cannot find the stream button.
