I am very pleased to tell you that we have been invited by the kind folks at 10gen (sponsors of the MongoDB non-relational database) to meet at their office in Gramercy:
17 W 18th Street
8th Floor
New York, NY 10011
Because of space constraints, we're limited to 10 people for now (if we have more folks interested, they can get us access to another space, but we need to know). So please reply to the list with a definite YES by *noon this Friday* (3/12) if you are planning to come. If you are a maybe, let me know that too.
What I'd like to do at this initial pickup meeting is talk a little bit about where everyone is and what they are hoping to learn next, and then hear from Rathan about a current project of his. If anyone else has a project they would like to share, we could probably look at one or two others as well. This seems beneficial both because it would be helpful to the group to look at what someone has been doing, and because it would be helpful to the project owner to get input from the group.
We can then discuss what we'd like the meetings to look like going forward. I have some ideas I'll propose, but I'm definitely open to being flexible around whatever the consensus is.
Looking forward to seeing everyone!
Cheers,
Julie

I'm planning on coming, and looking forward to catching up with everyone.
best regards,

Just a reminder that we will have a meeting tonight at the 10gen offices at 7pm. So far four people have responded that they are coming. There is room for more! If you think you can make it, please let me know -- we'd love to see you!
Cheers,
Julie
