Videogameshow
Have you ever found yourself wishing in vain for an outlet for your
massive knowledge-base of videogame trivia? Do you mumble "the cake is
a lie" on your friends' birthdays? Are you tired of watching Jeopardy,
longing for the day when a contestant will win a Daily Double with,
"Who set up us the bomb, Alex?"
Well, have we got the event for you...
On Wednesday, September 17th at 6:30, please join the NYC IGDA for the
very first Videogameshow!
Five rounds of questions, meticulously crafted by our panel of
game-junkie judges, will be asked. Up to eight teams from local game
companies, each containing 3 or 4 team members, will attempt to
answer. Real live buzzers will be smacked, important-looking red
lights will flash, reputations will be made, and hearts will be
broken...and at the end of the night, the winning team will walk away
with a Nintendo Wii, a copy of Spore, and one of the coolest books
ever written!
Want in? Round up three or four people from your company, write all of
your names and the name of your team in an email with the subject
header VIDEOGAMESHOW GET! and send it off to videog...@79west.com.
And do get clever with those team names, because bonus points will be
awarded for the best. Of course, if you just want to watch your
friends embarrass themselves, come on down - there will be food for
the audience.
Don't miss your chance to put your life's work to some use for a
change (and yes, there will be a round of Game Development
questions)...RSVP to the Videogameshow now!
Note: RSVPing will set aside your place at the event, submitting a
team must be done separately via the videog...@79west.com email.
If the first place team either already has or does not want a Wii, it
will be donated to Child's Play in the winning team's name. For more
information, stay tuned to this mailing list.
