to Learn Piano
There are basically two ways to learn to play piano: take private
lessons from a local piano teacher or get a self study and learn on
your own. Although private lessons have remained the same, self study
piano courses have taken to a whole new level, thanks to the advent of
the Internet. The question is though: is an online piano course really
for you?
Private lessons are expensive. A lesson can cost anywhere from $30 to
$75 an hour depending on the "demand factor" of the instructor and
"maintenance cost" of the studio. The schedule is set between the
instructor and student, usually one hour per week. As you can imagine
a weekly lesson for six months would cost $720, at the minimum, a year
$1440. The benefit, however, is that the student can get instant
feedback or suggestions.
On the other hand, taking piano lessons online allows you the
flexibility that private lessons cannot provide. There are online
courses that have audio and video files for you to listen/view any
time you want. This makes it easy to go back and relearn what you
might have missed the first time. All you need is a computer and a
pair of speakers.
But the biggest benefit of an online piano course is the cost. You can
take a comprehensive online piano course for a fraction of the cost of
a private piano teacher. Be sure to look for a reputable, legitimate,
no nonsense piano course.
If you can afford the payment and require a teacher to be by your side
to give you instant feedback, an online piano course might not be for
you. However, if you cannot afford private lessons and want to learn
at your own pace, an online piano course might be the best match for
you. Adult piano learners will appreciate the flexibility of an online
course. And for a fraction of the cost of a private piano teacher, why
not?
If you've always wanted to learn to play piano, consider an online
course. The Internet is a viable option for today's piano learners.
More and more people choose this route of learning to play piano
everyday.
