So I used krpano tools to generate tiles from sphere (I'll use it on server, so marzipano tool is not an option). Tried with maketiles, sphere2cube and with MAKE PANO (MULTIRES) droplet.bat but just can't figure out what I am really doing.
3. Also I'm confused about 'access rights' to the folder where the tiles will be created. I've searched the forum already on this topic and understood (vaguely) that 'home' folder or 'krpanotools' folder must be writable.
I want to bump this thread because this makes my head spinning. I tested very old Krpano tools (1.0.8.15) on my server and it works (simple kmakemultires call which then creates a folder and puts tiles in it). However, the latest Krpano tools don't work - I tried all possible variations (even put 32 bit tools on server - the output array is always empty).
1. create some test folder on my server.
2. set 777 rights to it to be writable.
3. put a simple 'make_pano.php' script inside it and indicate paths. Set 755 rights to this file.
4. upload Linux 64-bit Krpano tools into this folder. Set 755 rights to all the tools.
5. Run php file from the browser address bar and see an empty output.
Small update here: if I upload Krpano tools (pr 16) to the test folder on my server and then replace 'krpanottols' file with the old one (1.0.8.15) and add 'kmakemultires' file, then it works okay - I see the 'pano' folder created from 'pano.jpg' and inside it the ready panorama. Also I see the output in the html...
The krpano is a small and very flexible high-performance tools and conversion utilities that allow you to export all kinds of panoramic images and interactive virtual tours into a Flash and HTML5 application. The viewer is designed for the usage inside the browser (Windows, Mac, Linux) and on mobile devices and tablets (iPhone, iPad, Android, ...). Making a virtual tour with krpano is possible just by drag-and-drop.
I basically just use the highest level with the most tiles - e.g.. Level 3 and convert them into cube faces then into a sphere with a droplet if need be.
If the tour was generated through krpano, these tiles would be named something like
Yeah, tiles generated from PTP tour would be doable, even though the naming and sorting of the tiles would be different to what krpano generates. As far as I know PTP outputs the tiles in folders named 0,1,2,3,4,5. These would be the equivalent of cube face sides.
To work with this editor, you need at least a basic knowledge of krpano. Initially, I wanted to implement visual control over changing parameters (ath, atv, scale, alpha, ox, oy...). In the process, the editor was supplemented with buttons for changing almost all the main attributes of the hotspot, as well as action attributes (you can enter them in the browser window). Added a panel for editing text hotspots, which added the ability to work with the color of the background, border, shadows, text. You can change the html and css attributes by observing the process. What came out of it - find out by clicking on the button below.

No need to edit the code in"krpano". Creation and saving is done in the browserwindow.
The plan of the room or territory is a good complement to the virtual tour. It helpsto navigate in space, especially when on the plan are indicatedby points of the place of panoramas and schematically indicates the direction andangle of view of the currently open panorama.
As part of krpano there is a plug-in "Radar" - this is a cone, the angle of whichvaries depending on the zoom. It rotates with the rotation of the panorama,indicating the direction of the view. The "Radar" plug-in requires settings -setting the rotation angle, assigning a point to the plan.
Points on the plan also need to be arranged in accordance with the places taken.The plugin "edit_floorplan" allows you to easily and quickly cope with this taskwithout writing code, you just need to dot the mouse, rotate the "radar" and save.
Want to focus on certain places in the panorama? Create a list of views. through help from this community, in another thread on this forum, I was able to get krpano tools working locally, which is great, but I have still not given up on the idea that it could work on my shared-hosting Bluehost plan...since the installer tries to put the krpano tools binary into a sub-folder of root, it isn't really a surprise that the install failed on my shared hosting account...I just don't have the time or money right now to upgrade or move my dozens of sites and associated user-accounts, assets and databases to a VPS or dedicated server, so my question is this:
The krpanotools tool (this is a binary file) is enabled by default on the cheapest hosting plan in Bluehost. We did not have to ask anyone or write emails to the server administrator to enable them. Cool :)
We have checked that Bluehost is a very good hosting for the CMS4VR system.
Please, Has somebody tried with a project that contains videos? Videos file could not be loaded with this NWJS solution but it works fine with krpano testing server or uploaded in webpage.
@ el-si: this is due to gatekeeper and app translocation, a security feature
you can try to first delete your krpano folder,
then copy the krpano folder freshly from the downloaded dmg to the application folder.

Can I use Maketiled functions in any programming language? Must I use it on Mac OS and Windows like application?
It means when a user send pano photo on our web site, will we get it on our pc and then use tools files, Or can we use tools on the web server automaticly? Thanks for your help.

the tools are external applications, depending on your server (windows, linux) you can upload them to your server and call then them form your script language (e.g. php,asp,jsp,...) like you would do it on the command line,

- Goolge Chrome Version 20 or higher is needed (Version 20 is the first Chrome version with correct CSS 3D rendering, all older versions had '3D-clipping' issues).
- The pano display will be only correct when WebGL and/or hardware-accelerated CSS 3D Transforms is available.
- The overall working, performance and support is very good.
- Chrome supports Multi-touch-usage also on the desktop.

- Firefox Version 10 or higher is needed (the first version with CSS 3D support).
- The pano display will be only correct when WebGL and/or hardware-accelerated CSS 3D Transforms is available.
- Multi-touch-usage on the desktop is working the most time, but sometimes Firefox forgets the touch-control and starts sending mouse-events instead (Firefox bug).
- The overall working, performance and support in WebGL-mode is very good. In CSS3D mode there can be several different rendering errors (depending on the Firefox version and on the system), so krpano embedding script tries to avoid using Firefox in CSS3D mode.
- Note - Firefox doesn't support mp3/h264 audio/video codecs, so there different file-formats need to be used.
- Microsoft Internet Explorer (Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows RT, Windows Phone 8)
- Internet Explorer Version 10 or higher is needed (the first version with correct HTML5, XML and CSS 3D support).
- Works the same for the desktop and the 'Metro/Windows 8' IE10 version.
- Windows 8 Tablets are supported too, but non-ARM tablets will be detected as 'Desktop' - Microsoft doesn't allow to detect if the device is a desktop or just a tablet.
- The overall working and performance is good. There are only some performance-problems when using textfields with shadows-effects. That means for best performance in IE, the usage of shadows should be avoided or limited.
- The IE10 sometimes shows small graphics/display errors - the edges of elements (like the cube-faces or hotspots) can become visible because of rendering-errors.
- IE10 supports Multi-touch-usage on mobiles, tablets and also on desktops.
- New: With IE11 also WebGL and the HTML5 Fullscreen API will be supported.
- Desktop Safari (Windows and Mac)
- Safari 5.1 or higher is recommended.
- Works fine with good performance.
- Only the Window-Safari version has some issues - the mouse-moving can be sometimes blocked/hanging for a a short time (but the mouse-wheel and keyboard controls are working during this time) and the memory-need on can be very high and lead to browser crashes.
