I'm starting to look for a design intern, please feel free to spread this around. The internship is going to be very intense and demanding, but whoever gets the job will gain some real world skills in rapid prototyping and usability testing, and interact with a formidable variety of designers, scientists and developers.
Internship position:
The CRI (http://www.cri-paris.org/en/cri/) invites web design students to apply to an internship position on a novel open science platform, Knownodes.
Knownodes is an open platform directed to scientists and student to share, understand and interact on current open scientific questions.
The project is connected with the Citizen Cyberlab project (CERN, Paris Descartes, UNITAR, Universite de geneve, London city college) and the Weizmann institute.
The interns work will be peer reviewed by students in the Tisch ITP program in NY and HCI in London.
PROFILE
We are seeking highly motivated candidates who are skilled in UI design and are motivated with participatory platforms (e.g, Wikipedia, StackOverFlow).
THE PROJECT
The successful applicant will closely work with a web developer and a PHD student in designing a User interface for the Knownodes web platform:
The work will consist of:
* Critically analysis and improvement of the UI.
* Designing a visualized content navigation interface.
* Conceiving and running usability tests.
