AP Precalculus is a Gateway to Advanced Math
The new AP Precalculus course is proving successful for students, teachers, and schools. The exam is attracting a broader range of students, and instructors overwhelmingly report feeling well-prepared to teach the course and enjoy the experience. Schools’ AP scores stayed steady. More students, instead of fewer, have since taken calculus. And soon, many more colleges are expected to accept the College Board’s AP Precalculus as an entry-level math credit — meaning fewer students will have to take remedial college math, and more will have access to STEM careers.
