Hi there,

I am with NPR and manage their APIs. I'd love to talk to someone at LR about the NPR content in your system and learn a little more about your business model.

Thanks for any info. Erin

Hi Erin,

Learning Registry isn't a company - Learning Registry is an open source community with some governmental (US ED) and philanthropic (Amazon) support to operate.

There is no business model in the core operation of the system at this time (nor one anticipated unfortunately).

Removing content is generally the responsibility of the organization who submitted resources. So if there are NPR resources in the system that you don't think should be in the system, the first step is to look at who published it. If that's not possible (some resources are not maintained actively), we can talk about removing them manually. It's best to think of the system as a public card catalog - anyone can put a card in the catalog.

I hope that's helpful - definitely write back if you want any assistance or have more questions.

Steve

Ditto to what Steve said. Officially, the Learning Registry is "a joint effort of the Department of Education and the Department of Defense, with support of the White House and numerous federal agencies, non-profit organizations, international organizations and private companies" that was begun under the previous administration. You can find more information about the initiative on the Learning Registry website.

In addition to writing here, you're also welcome to join the LR Developer calls. The next one is this Wednesday. Check for the announcement on this forum for the relevant call-in information.
