'concerned Australians' are sending two Aboriginal representatives Rosalie Kunoth-Monks OAM & Rev. Dr. Djiniyini Gondarra OAM, two highly respected NT elders to Geneva in a little over one week.
They will present to the United Nations a comprehensive (shadow) report, Loss of Rights ? the Despair of Aboriginal Communities in the NT.
The attachment follows on from the letter of a week or so ago. It calls for your help once again. This time in contacting UN CERD committee members to ask them to read this new report and ask them to make a little extra time to meet with Rosalie and Djiniyini.
Gabriella, Human Rights Officer and Secretary of the Committee on the Elimination of Racial Discrimination will forward your letter/s on (refer attachment). If you would rather send to other CERD members the list is at http://www2.ohchr.org/english/bodies/cerd/members.htm

Aboriginal Justice and Appeals to the UN
You have a chance to help make a difference by using a little of your time and voice to write to members of the Committee for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination (CERD) at the UN to encourage them to listen to respected Aboriginal elders who will be attending a meeting where countries, including Australia, are due to make reports on their progress in upholding international conventions that we are signatories to. The Aboriginal elders will be presenting a report from their 'on the ground' perspective. (?concerned Australians' East Melb), Feb 2010. Michael speaks on several fronts in the latter part particularly on the NT Intervention.
