Hi everyone,

We're going to keep our learning to a minimum for the last day of our workshop. Technically its still Friday for me in Vancouver, but I do apologise for the late posting.  Anyway -- you can take your time next week to master sub-pages.

During the last session, we focus on creating sub-pages in the wiki (note that we will leave out navigation templates and categories for the time being which are covered in the same tutorial).  The ability to create sub pages is very useful for educators because, very often, educational materials have a hierarchical structure or may sequenced according to a process.

We'll keep this forum open next week for dealing with any last questions before I unsubscribe participants to prepare for the next online session.

Most important -- WE need your help. Consider becoming WikiAmbassadors for the Learning4Content initiative. Our target is to train 2500 educators by
the end of this year. Please spread the word and encourage your friends and colleagues to sign up for one of the upcoming  workshops.

Don't forget your learning contracts <smile>. We also need to develop 2500 lessons of free content!

Next week I'll post a few tips on developing your teaching materials in WE.  Also, remember also - that in order to achieve the status of Wikibuddy in
our Wikimaster typology -- you are required to develop an teaching resource in WE.  WE have a growing number of certified Wikibuddies in our family.

The best way to refine your skills is to develop teaching materials. You know what they say: "If you want to learn something -- teach it!"

Chat to you soon and have a great weekend!
Wayne.

INSTRUCTIONS

Work through section on creating subpages in Tutorial 10:

http://wikieducator.org/Wikieducator_tutorial/Thinking_about_Structure

No need to work through the other sections of this tutorial.

Please remember that you can make a contribution to the growth of our WE community -- you're now part of our family. Don't forget to invite at
least three of your friends to join one of the upcoming workshops. More if you can!

Send an email to three friends or colleagues telling them about your experience in WE and send a personal invitation for them to join an
online training session. Remember to include a link to:

1) The L4C home page: http://wikieducator.org/Learning4Content

and

2) The registration page:
http://wikieducator.org/Learning4Content/Registration

If anyone would like to become a facilitator for a face to face workshop
in the future -- we invite you to submit a bounty proposal:

Hi Wayne,
Just 2 questions before you get totally involved with your new group: (1) Now that I have completed the workshop do I still have access to my pages and the tutorials? (2) Re my contract to produce a resource - how do I proceed when my resource is completed?
Thank you for a very useful workshop.
Yasmeen

Hi Yasmeen,

To answer your questions:

(1) Now that I have completed the workshop do I still have access to my pages and the tutorials?

You have permanent access to your pages on WikiEducator and all the Tutorials in perpetuity <smile>. You will find all the tutorials listed here: http://wikieducator.org/Help:Contents

(2) Re my contract to produce a resource - how do I proceed when my resource is completed?

When you have finished your resource, I encourage you to apply for certification as a Wikibuddy and celebrate your achievement!  Remember to bookmark the WIkimaster page -- there is a section which explains how to apply for certification:

http://wikieducator.org/WikiMaster

That said, I hope that you will be staying with our community and family helping us achieve our collective goals for the future. Perhaps you want to become a L4C facilitator in your own country <smile>.

For folk who are working on their learning contract materials, you may find the following tutorials useful (although they are not 100% complete yet). I'm hoping to get these finished when I return from London.

Cheers
