Team,
It's been a long road, started in late September 2012 when we started inviting panelists. We added the "View from Inside the Classroom" panel a bit later, in January, and fortunately just secured our final student panelist for the panel.
Congratulations to everyone. This is a great milestone (and a considerable relief for me), and is also a testament to the power of our LEARN Network that we're able to secure a high school student for this panel just days after two other HS students had unexpectedly turned us down. (Ashley, I hope you don't mind I'm forwarding your e-mail!)
Best,
Joe

Ta-da!!!!! Larissa Pahomov is the best person ever in the whole wide world. I've made Larissa's description of Ryan a little more program-ready but I couldn't find a photo in all my SLA-website-creeping....and I didn't think it appropriate to creep too long.
"Ryan Harris is a senior at the Science Leadership Academy in Philadelphia. He has been the student co-chair of SLA's annual innovation in education conference, EduCon for two years. In his current journalism class, Ryan has spent a lot of time talking about the current status of education in Philadelphia with his peers."

Subject: Student for LEARN conference panel -- Ryan Harris

Hi Ashley,
Ryan Harris has agreed to be on the panel this Saturday!
Ryan is a senior at SLA. He's also been the student co-chair of EduCon, our annual innovation in education conference, for two years. He's also in SLA's journalism class, where we have been spending a lot of time talking about the current status of education in Philly, so I know he will have some real insights to contribute.
I've already communicated the time and place to Ryan -- he'll be there! Ashley, if you need anything else from Ryan, just e-mail him directly.
Thanks,
Larissa
