3. How was Vyshyvanka Day celebrated today in Lviv?
Today is a day when people in Ukraine and abroad wear Ukrainian traditional embroidered shirts, or vyshyvankas. Most Ukrainians today have at least one of these main elements of national wear, embroidered with standardized designs.
Celebrated on the third Thursday of every May since 2007, the celebration is designed to preserve and promote Ukrainian values among the country’s youth and general population. 4. President of the Experimental Theater Club at Oxford University is learning Ukrainian with us!!
Our Ukrainian Language and Culture School www.learn-ukrainian.org.ua is always proud of our students! This time it is Jack Clover, a young British dramaturge and director. Jack is the president of the Experimental Theater Club at Oxford University, winner of the Oxford New Writing competition 2016 and Runner-up in the National Theater of Great Britain’s young playwrights competition 2013. His plays have been staged in Oxford, Edinburgh, USA and the Czech Republic.
