Man could exist efficiently even for the noblest of purposes witout pepper, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, saffron, sage, and the numerous spices. The multiplicity of luscious fruits and condiments in the world leaves not the slightest doubt that the Creator intended these unnecessary pleasures solely for the purpose of kindliness."
