 Ever wondered why our ears are specifically composed of skin and cartilage?

"If it were entirely bony, the beating of the air would be too strong and heavy and the ear would be terrified by such strong sounds. On the other hand, if the ear were composed entirely of flesh it would be too soft, and the beating air would not produce any sound and therefore would not be perceived by the ear. Hence the ear was created from a matter intermediate between bone and flesh, that it be neither too hard nor too soft, but something in between."
