Hello everyone,

Here is a recap of what we discussed on Sunday. Going forward we'll
need a secretary to take notes during out meetings. I'm particularly
bad at that so if anyone enjoys doing it please let me know.

1. Website - We've decided to use WordPress (as our external facing
website) and BaseCamp (as our internal planning website) moving
forward. Kelly is leading this project, and she'll be giving us an
overview of both sites during our next meeting. Thank you Kelly!

2. Target Audience - In an attempt to have a diverse audience we are
going to have specialized marketing targeting specific age groups.
This is meant to be an inclusive project so the more groups we reach
the better. The groups we talked about focusing were:
- Twenty and thirty somethings
- Families
- Boomers and be on.

3. Public Relations - One of the most important aspects of this
project is PR. We won't be a success if no one comes. With that in
mind we spoke about potential papers and magazines to pitch stories
to. Those include:
- Redeye
- TCW
- Reader
- Northshore (if applicable)

4. Venue - We did not make a decision on a venue during our meeting,
however we are researching our options. Everyone received a
neighborhood to research.
- The research that you do on your neighborhood should include the
following items:
- what the age demographic is for the neighborhood
- social organizations and nonprofits located and/or serving the
area
- museums and cultural centers
- restaurants and bars
- schools
- YMCAs
- libraries
Please feel free to use the Chamber of Commerce for the neighborhood
(if applicable)

The neighborhoods that we are going to research include:
- Printers' Row - Dan
- Uptown - Dan
- Hyde Park - Kelly
- Lakeview - Tiffany
- Ukranian Village/ Wicker Park - Lindsay
- Logan Square - Maggie


5.Various - We discussed various other items during the meeting such
as how do we ensure teacher and attendee participation, how do we
avoid any liability issues, and training speakers. We'll discuss these
items in further detail in later meetings.

6. Next Meeting & Agenda - Our next meeting will be held on March 15th
at Kelly's house (she has cookies).

Thanks everyone for all of your hard work during that first meeting.
I'm really excited about this project, and am happy I have such a
great team of people to work with me on it. Please let me know if I
