to Learn-a-Palooza Chicago
Hello Everyone,
I've included a recap of our last meeting at the bottom of this email,
but I wanted to hit our action items first.
Agenda/Action Items
1. Next meeting will be at my apartment. There are some scheduling
conflicts for this weekend's meeting. Please select which meeting time
you would prefer.
a. Sunday, March 29th 11am
b. Monday, March 30th 7pm
c. Tuesday, March 31st 7pm
2. We are going to be sending an email to the Learn-a-palloza people
in D.C. to ask some follow-up questions. If you have any questions you
would like me to send to them please email them to me.
3. We are considering a name change. For the next meeting please come
prepared to discuss this(Pros/Cons. Possible names).
4. It is Mission and Vision time. We'll be talking out the Mission and
Vision at this meeting. Please come prepared.
5. Charter and Project Plan - I will discuss this further during the
meeting, but I will be taking the lead on building them out. For a
frame of reference:
a. Think of the Charter as our map. It lists out where we are
going, and takes into considerations what could go wrong (and correct)
along the way and provides guidance for how we can manage to it.
b. The project plan is a....project plan. Once we pick a date for
our event, we'll work backwards from there to set out milestones, and
activities we need to accomplish.
3-21 Notes
During our last meeting we reviewed Wordpress and began playing around
with Wikidot as options for our website. Wordpress seems like it will
be able to fulfil our needs. To save on using up group time Kelly and
I will work on this independantly. If you are interested in
participating please let either myself or Kelly know.
The second item we talked about was renaming the project. We were
toying with the idea of renaming the project so that we can make it
special to our city. During our next meeting we'll talk further about
if we want to rename it, and what the new name should be.
We also began to discuss other questions that we had about the
project, and it was decided to reach out to the D.C. folks to find out
some answers.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Maggie
