Thanks kglad and sukritd15. I will consider the un-installation and re-installation (Acrobat had just been updated and Reader DC was a fresh install) but I doubt that is the problem. Perhaps it is more of a Windows 10 issue then it is an Acrobat one-- or an adobe compatibility with Win 10 issue.
Thank you fo rthis inofrmation. I had a similar 2 hour session and I'm sure they did exactly the same. But. There are still aspects which are not working properley and freezing save as is one of them that only works occasionally and there are several fillable forms I have created which no longer accept images and other items. I suspect my windows version as well as the computer although 64bit version of windows, is quite old. Perhaps time for a new one. several of the creative cloud elements are no longer compatible and given the subscription cost, it may be time to upgrade.
From Version 3.02 onwards, Acrobat Reader has included support for JavaScript. This functionality allows a PDF document creator to include code which executes when the document is read. Malicious PDF files that attempt to attack security vulnerabilities can be attached to links on web pages or distributed as email attachments. While JavaScript is designed without direct access to the file system to make it "safe", vulnerabilities have been reported for abuses such as distributing malicious code by Acrobat programs.[42] Adobe applications had already become the most popular client-software targets for attackers during the last quarter of 2009.[43] McAfee predicted that Adobe software, especially Reader and Flash, would be the primary target for software attacks in the year 2010.[44]
The Acrobat Add-In installs Acrobat plug-ins (API files) in the following folder on your computer: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat x.0\Acrobat\plug_ins\ (or, in 64-bit Windows operating systems, C:\Program Files (x86)\adobe\Acrobat 10.0\acrobat\plug_ins)
Ever since we upgraded our computers to Windows 7, when we print to adobe pdf, the print window that pops up is not maximized in front of the other windows that are open, so we have to click on in almost every time to name the file which is pretty annoying... any way to resolve this problem?

Yes, that depends on the allowed trusted sites of the system who receives the email. The emails don't go as a hotmail yahoo or outlook emails, they are sent as an adobe email. If the receiver system does not trust the adobe server/site/certificates it would go into junk email of the Inbox.
I have a large (6mb) PDF file which is static content on an IIS web site. If the web site is on IIS7 (windows server 2008 r2 64-bit) and the user is using Acrobat 7, the download stalls and acrobat hangs, sometimes with an error saying the file could not be read.
This happens for different files, different browsers, and different hardware. However, it is specific to the combination of IIS7 and Acrobat 7; if I use acrobat 9 everything is fine, and likewise if I move the web site to a windows 2003 (IIS6) box.
*Adobe Acrobat is commercial software from Adobe that allows you to save your documents in PDF (portable document format). All documents filed in ECF must be in PDF format (with the exception of the case mailing matrix, which is required to be in txt format). Acrobat is available from commercial software retailers for approximately $200 - $300. Adobe also distributes a program called Acrobat Reader that allows you to view and print (but not create) PDF documents. The reader is available for free download from the Court's website at www.vawb.uscourts.gov and at www.adobe.com. There are many other PDF converter products available at lower costs at Internet sites such as www.docauto.com.
Another option is to use the Window > New Window menu command. Unlike the Split window command, this will create two separate versions of your PDF file that you can navigate independently. This is especially useful you want to navigate the page thumbnails in one windows and entire pages of the same PDF in another. This article on how to View the same PDF document in multiple windows explains this feature in more detail.
The split screen (Window>Split/Spreadsheet split) is useful for some workflows (especially the spreadsheet split where you can see your column headers and your data at all times), but to truly work in two instances of your document, I would recommend to select Window>New Window. This will create a new window that also displays your PDF file. Now you have two application windows that both display the same document. Both windows can be configured to look exactly the way you need them (e.g. page thumbnails in one window, and bookmarks in the other).
