The notes taken from the last meetup to remind us what we were talking
about and to give the rest an idea of what you missed out on. Look
forward to continuing this at September's meetup.

The attendees and their start up projects.

Ben ~ news aggregation project. on the shelf. Now an education
project.back to aggregator. Plenty of pivot potential.Ready to launch
in November education project.

Soren ~ working on web app to help with sustainable purchasing. has
pivoted onto diff product from last time.
Says new pivot is a good thing as otherwise would have run out of
money. Building new app from that. .

Pete ~ mobile location based advertising app. Talking to diff people
to get started

Elliot ~ meeting management solution. Has launched MVP 1/2 hour ago.
Has also spoken to 2 possible customers who are not interested in the
product so will keep talking before coding. minitise.com

Nathan ~ can he do web development by breaking it up into a million
parts? Has done research with digital agencies. Next thing is to break
up & put in a practical manner. Proving the model will work while
validating. Reaching out to freelance.

Marco ~ 1st time at LSC. At ground level and planning a site around
food and finding places to eat. Has talked to restaurants and they are
not interested in stuff with no users

Steven ~ has just walked away from his last project. Come to
conclusion it was a hobby and learning experience. Worked out a new
model : box of problems like a BAS and find people to fulfil this.
Also trying to find a person to knock this around. Not planning on
starting the conversation till ready to.

Luke: Project about to open . Breakfast on Friday morning to discuss
his project which is about to be patented. Has proved the concept in
lat 6 months and ready to meet again. Nutting out final points of
algorithm.

Tim: Cashstream online commercial finance broker. Launched on 1st of
September. Taken 20 years experience & put online but challenge is
putting online 16 lenders. Just secured contract to use the
technology. Offer to buy them yesterday.

Warwick: Perry: career seekers can register, go through physiological
assessment and employers broadcast career alerts, the experience and
location of the job. Provides direct traffic to job ads.

Jason: 3rd start up. In iPhonee location based. Long time adopter of
lean processes and startups from theory experience & working with
people. Stopping progress on all other till he proves hypothesis which
is a lot harder to do than to say.

---------

Talking about Pivot.

Jason in past been more focused on analytics and what inside bus model
is important in growing. Too close to the product and scared to go
out. Built stuff & prototypes and than stripped back. Sharing his
experiences of 2 last start ups. 3rd time understood the lean
processes. By time it takes to do it would be faster to build the
product and absolutely wrong.

* Thing that got Luke over it was he got someone else to build it.

Steve: whats a years time of hacking. Was happy to give it up but
would not like to give it up.

* Luke has become a tester.

Steve is giving netball analogy analogy for pivot. Was getting I don't
need it
Had Minimum Program experience and now has a lot of rail
understanding.

Nathan says Steve he has learnt to kill his baby which is a hard thing
to do.

Nathan talks about finding reasons for his applications….and his past
life as a pivoted

Tim: trying to take hardcore offline experience online. Getting it
done an getting someone else to do it. Major relationship and journey
to it ~ wanted practical. been a lot of shifting. Has been shimmying
and chasing where people and money are

Soren: when he quit he thought he had it all figured out but it was
not going to work.
Through forced measures. Pivoted to sustainable products, researched
and realised their are not many making money and they are struggling
to meet minimum. Had a number of conversations leading up to it. Had
the one foot on the ground that allowed him to pivot. Structure a set
of human tasks to put together. most traction with govt and NGO's.
Lessons: not getting carried away with people who were interested but
not enough. still coding, next focus is less focused. Had taken a
month off coding but now has pivoted.

Pete: started building app around "happy hour" bar/pub app. No strong
business model. Not enough to watch users numbers but have a biz
model.

Jason says he is doing the same thing. He is doing stuff with bars.
The distributors, who would be interested in there. What is the value
they see? Tried to keep in mind ~ not be afraid that there may be a
model that will fly in the face of the way they do things.

* wacky thinking: not to have boarding passes. making suggestions

Jason says he notices that bar owners are not tech savvy.

Nathan talks customer development and the conversations or locking
into your idea.

Soren talks about his 10 questions, would you deploy this, what do you
what to be better?

Steve: very keen to go online

Jason: giving example of wire frames

Steve is asking about online testing

Nathan: anonymous dudes: at what point does he want to test, verify
there is something there? What would be the customer acquisition?. At
what point do you want to test that?

Steve: all the learning has been from online.

Nikki: gives us her example on her MVP and market testing.

Nathan: What is the minimum way to get your product out there?

Tim: talks about an example he knows of business ideas similar to
Steve's

----------------

Actionable steps for the next meetup:

* turning the app live and meeting on friday.

Steve: wanting to test his product. asking for leads cuts dev

Marco - take away understanding of lean. needs focus on closing last
start up

Nathan : next is progress on analysis

Elliot: 10 questions instead of going straight to solution

Pete: Has an advertsing partner almost signed up

Soren: submit an article in Sustainability matters and release app.
Will keep talking to people in order to write article

Warwick: try and use marketing strategy, networking more at events for
recruiters, pounding the pavement

Ben: Business models to look at and decide which of the 8 business

Lee: First component launch in 2 weeks. Business processes will be
tested.
