Hello All,
I would like to share with you an inspiring quote by Mark L. Feldman & Michael F. Spratt,
'Five Frogs on a Log'
Five frogs are sitting on a log. Four decide to jump off.
How many are left?
Anyone know the answer?
Regards,
Lee Kuan

Ha…ha…ha….
The subject of "Five Frogs on a Log" is an interesting concept on
Mergers and Acquisitions -M&As. It is a unique activity and in
Wikipedia's terms:
"Corporate mergers and acquisitions has been increasing every year
their goal is a different primary purpose is to struggle for survival
due to business expansion and international market expansion in order
to facilitate and enhance international competitiveness in domestic
and foreign used for expansion..."
Mark Feldman's concept is based on the fine line between SUCCESS and
FAILURE and the difference between DECISION and ACTION.
So the Frog that jumps in has made the decision and taken the action required. T
There will be still FIVE Frogs left. It is just that one of them
decided to seize the opportunity.
Mergers and Acquisitions can sometimes be HOSTILE and in many cases
there will be a lot of changes - Staffing, Branding, etc. It is a
complex subject and is not easy to explain.
From the Mentoring and Coaching viewpoint, I would think that the
Decision and Action is important as with the proper plans, there is
greater scope for Success.
I would like to quote the following from WILLIAM ARTHUR WARD:
"The Mediocre Teacher Tells
The Good Teacher Explains
The Superior teacher Demonstrates
The Great Teacher Inspires"
I am also attaching Schoessler's Mentoring and Coaching Article for
some useful tips. Though it is meant for Nurse Tutors, it is
applicable in our context.
Also, I am providing a URL from Youtube on Clay Aiken's American Idol
Song Bridge Over Troubled Waters" to give a special perspective in our
Mentoring/Coaching Efforts:

The answer: five. Because there's a difference between deciding and doing.
