Hi! I just wanted to thank all my colleagues who have posted wonderful
articles on Coaching and Mentoring on this Forum. I am touched by the
following:

1. Michael Derrick's article by Dr. Starcevich wherin it is stated
"Mentors are like Sounding Boards and let the Mentees find solutions".

2. Sukhdav Kaur's article "Once the crew are comfortable, they will
share their problems and be willing to be coached ".

3. Amiruddin's article: "... gaining confidence of crewmembers due to
the Generation Gap ...".

4. Dalbier's posting: Southwest Airlines-Secret Ingredient ... is its'
ability to build and sustain high performance relationships among
managers, employees, unions and suppliers ".

5. Ganapathe's posting: "Being a Great Mentor ... Don't Lord Your
Knowledge and experience over your Mentee ...".

6. Salleh's article: "Mentoring can boost communication, inject new
ideas into old formulas and promote a satisfying more open work
environment ... allof which benefits the bottom line ...".

7. Kamarul Saisi's article: "A counsellor does not tell someone what
to do .... everything done to support protege orientation and
professional development ...".

So it can be seen it is not easy being a "Wise, Old Bird" - so many
factors to consider and sometimes it may seem like trampling on broken
glass "! It would appear that extreme care is required when embarking
on the Journey to Mentoring!!!

by the way, all the articles posted are "Simply Amazing"

Regards

Dear Alfred,

A wonderful summaries which sums up to our quest to the uncomfortable for some including myself. I always envy those who can create a good rapport with other people within a short frame of time. I, myself, am not easy to warm up with people although I never intend or harbour an ill feelings towards anyone. The journey has begun, and for me it will be a tough one. I have no problem with those I knew, but to create a relationships that proves beneficial within a short period will be some challenged to myself.

Maybe I need a mentor myself in the art of establishing rapport and casual relations.........

But that too will be a challenged as it will be hard for me to choose one.....
