Subject: Scrum Master role
Good afternoon. Your resume came up in my search and I was hoping to speak with you re: a Scrum Master role with Starbucks. Please review job details below and get back to me with your interest and availability. We can then schedule a time to discuss further.
The role for this position is Scrum Master for a software implementation project using an Agile software development methodology. This is a very specialized role with some skills similar to project management skills but some quite different.
Key responsibilities for this role:
Facilitate Scrum related meetings including defect stand-ups, story time, retrospective, etc.
Maintain Scrum board
Remove roadblocks
Provide training/coaching
implementation and adoption of additional Agile techniques if/as required
Scrum Master experience in large complex enterprise level IT implementations is required
Scrum Master certification is highly desirable
Scrum Master job summary and responsibilities
The scrum master is responsible for the Scrum process and has to make sure everybody in the
team, the product owner, and anyone else involved in the project knows and understands the
process. The scrum master makes sure that everyone follows the rules and practices of the
Scrum process. So the scrum master does not manage the team; the team is self-managing.
If a conflict occurs in the team, the scrum master should be the oil that makes the team
smoothly work out their problems. It is also the scrum masters responsibility to protect the
team from the outside world so they can work in peace and quiet during the sprint, focused
on delivering business value.
Scrum Master Responsibilities
Removing the barriers between development and the customer so the customer
directly drives development
Teaching the customer how to maximize ROI and meet their objectives through Scrum
Improving the lives of the development team by facilitating creativity and
empowerment
Improving the productivity of the development team in any way possible
Improving the engineering practices and tools so each increment of functionality
is potentially shippable
Thank you!
