Bill Paugh, with the Oregon Manufacturing Extension Partnership, will
present some of his experiences as a lean service provider at food
processing facilities, honing in on lean and/or environmental issues,
or opportunities discovered during lean and productivity events. The
examples will cover efficiency and reduction opportunities in energy,
water and wastewater, and solid waste, (and product flow/processing).
He will identify the opportunities and challenges that working with
food processors may present and offer concrete examples and success
stories of OMEP’s efforts.

Bill Paugh is a consultant with the Oregon Manufacturing Extension
Partnership, headquartered in Portland, OR. OMEP has worked on a
number of food processing projects in Oregon.
ABOUT THE LEAN AND ENVIRONMENT WORKGROUP
The lean and environment workgroup is a partnership between the
National Pollution Prevention Roundtable (P2.org), the Pollution
Prevention Resource Exchange (P2Rx), the Zero Waste Network
(ZeroWasteNetwork.org), and the Pacific Northwest Pollution Prevention
Resource Center (PPRC.org). Its purpose is to demonstrate the
profitability of incorporating sustainable business practices into
operations.
Anyone who is interested in being part of the group should go to
