Joining us in August will be Anna Mangum. She'll give us the insider's view at how you get to implementation with E3 projects--a behind the scenes look at how to herd cats, twist arms, crunch numbers, and communicate to the masses.
Anna's bio:
Mangum is an improvement
specialist at North Carolina State University’s Industrial Extension Service,
IES: NC MEP. Anna
provides leadership to North Carolina’s statewide sustainable manufacturing
initiative, E3. She works closely with federal, state and local leaders,
gaining their support of manufacturers to be sustainable in economy, energy and
environment. Under her direction, E3 has deployed statewide, engaging over 30
manufactures, 190 partners and impacting 17 North Carolina communities. The
program was recently recognized by Governor Bev Perdue as well as presented to
the White House Rural Council.
Anna also serves her organization as a technical specialist in environmental
health and safety. She specializes in the delivery of EHS classes and on-site
services including ISO 14001, HAZWOPER, and a variety of occupational health
and safety classes.
Prior to joining IES in 2008, Anna conducted research at the National Institute
of Environmental Health Sciences. There, her work focused on familial pulmonary
fibrosis and molecular genetics.
Anna graduated from NC State University with a B.S. in environmental
technology, and minors in environmental toxicology and environmental science.
About the Lean and Environment Workgroup
The Lean and Environment Work Group is a partnership between the National Pollution Prevention Roundtable (P2.org), the Zero Waste Network (ZeroWasteNetwork.org) and the Pacific Northwest Pollution Prevention Resource Center (PPRC.org). Its purpose is to demonstrate the profitability of incorporating sustainable business practices into operations.
