to Leaguevine Developers
1. Public Screen is launched, source code available
2. SMS and other scheduling scripts
3. Logo contest
4. AWS outage

1.
Windmill Windup happened last weekend and they debuted a new, sleek, open source public screen project. Go take a look at the source code. This is kind of a big deal. We can definitely see a ton of tournaments using this, and people at Windmill seemed to really like it. We'll be integrating this into Leaguevine at some point, but first it needs some adapting for regular tournaments so we can show pools rather than swiss standings. Anyone want to help with this?

2.
Chris Schaffner did a ton of custom stuff for Windmill Windup and then put all that online. One of the coolest (craziest?) features he implemented was mass SMS messaging to the attendees telling them where and when they were playing. Super cool if you have a little budget to spend on SMS fees, and want your tournament to be as high tech as possible.

Even if you're not into SMS, if you're curious for how to integrate with the Leaguevine API in various ways, you should definitely check out his repo

3.
We're running a logo design contest and awarding the winner $300. To be eligible you need to get your designs in by Thursday of this week. Check it out on our 99designs contest page!

4.
Last Thursday marked the first time since moving to Heroku that our Leaguevine app went down. And it went down really hard. I wrote about it on our blog if you're bored and want to read about the whole ordeal.

We may change this to a "This month in Leaguevine-developers" because that seems to be about the highest frequency of updates we can give while still making them action packed and interesting.

Happy coding!
