I am trying to create some pages in Leaflet that let me view street lamps on the map. My issue is that most providers that work with Leaflet (OSM,Cloudmade) max zoom level does not go low enough. I need markers on the map every 10 - 20 meters, the current max zoom level just makes the data start to collide.

I cant change what those providers give us to work with. So my goal is to come up with a way to artificially increase the max zoom level. In my application I can tolerate some pixelization that could occur when increasing the size of tiled images greater then their zoom level.

Does this seem possible in Leaflet? Can anyone point me to certain places in the library that I could start fiddling with?

Cheers,

Have you managed to do this?   I am looking for exactly the same thing

Actually it should be possible; when using a tile layer which only has zoom levels 17 and 18, I keep seeing it for a very little while after map enters zoom level 19.
During that fraction of second, the tile layers are still visible, and zoomed (they are increased in size) ... but then they dissapear!

So I guess there should be a way to keep them visible.   Any hints?
