Friends, should you find time to congress, these should help you. :)
Up to when is the debate? It is on until Congress adjourns on 10 june 2011 so deliberations will be up to 9 June 2011.
Some other queries:
1. Do we need to present IDs? Be ready, in case you are asked. How many? you mean IDs? all of those who would like to go into the gallery
2. Can we come in individually or as a group or both? both
3. What days, time slots, etc. can we come? yes of course. we are encouraging everyone to be present. we need to support our allies and we need to let our legislators know our stand. Congress deliberations are on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4 pm as of this writing. There is a move in Congress (still not confirmed though) that deliberations may also be held on Mondays up to Thursdays.
Best to be in Congress by 3pm to ensure you are allowed to get through
the main gates and to get seats. Remember, the anti lifers will also
come in droves (as they always do). we take seats at the right side of
the gallery facing the lectern.
4. Do we need to stay for the whole time while the debate is on the floor? Or can some stay for some hours only (like take shifts)? it really is up to you to device some way. you can stay for as long as you want until the sessions for the day end. normally, the RH bill is taken up after considering other house bills briefly. it is the RH bill that takes a while for deliberations, being a controversial issue.
5. Can we bring in streamers or light placards (like I oppose RH --or is it RP)? No. you may not be allowed to enter the premises. if you unfurl these within the gallery, you may be asked to leave.
6. How are we supposed to behave inside? we must behave well at all times. Can people clap to show support? they don't allow this. booh to show disapproval? neither this. sometimes the gallery people can't help themselves so when they do their attention gets called by marshalls. again, it is best to keep quiet and be calm and charitable to EVERYONE.
7. Other details: do we look for you or someone? only if needed -- please call the office of Cong. Rodolfo Antonino and ask one of his staff to help you enter the gallery. you may also call Agoy Descallar, from the office of Cong. Velarde to assist your entry. you can mention my name to either. do we wear specific color of shirt or a band? yes, preferably blue or blue and white. PLEASE NOT PURPLE as this is the color of the other side!
