At a small gathering of LF attendees and prospects, there were a
couple of items I thought would be of interest to the general LF
community. Feel free to share your thoughts about their relevance,
our roles, other perspectives...

* First, there was a recent NY Times Magazine article that, at
first seemed to be about obesity, then about class and its
implications, and then this short article managed to twist and turn
(as if a lesson in System Dynamics) through the farm bill,
agriculture, the economics and business of farming, food and
consumption, impact on foreign people and economies, immigration, back
to employment, impact, impact... Read the article here - http://tinyurl.com/2crl9l

* Another item discussed was the film, The Corporation (
http://www.thecorporation.com/ ) which I haven't seen, so I cannot
comment further - except to say that I think it will be equally
provocative, in some of the same ways I found the NYT article to be.

Thoughts? Comments?
