Hey Everyone,

We have a new Proposal for Non-Profit Charity Sponsorship.

Here is the link to the full proposal (also pasted bellow): https://docs.google.com/document/d/1byaRsG5N1_Npy-ckWufNL_sjVsXSSgblQ4n8HdvKvO0/edit#

In summary it is a tech distributive platform foundation that will oversee open source code that supports a distributive decentralized smart contract platform. This will be useful for a variety of technological innovations applicable to economic systems, legal systems, and decision making systems, which are described with a little more details in the proposal. It currently has not finalized its name, there are at least 10 options, but our sponsorship is not contingent on having a name, as any project can change their name at anytime, it just costs $60-$100 for a new FBN to update the Bank Account.

You can either vote Yes, Abstain, No, or vote 0-9 scale. 1-3 NO, 4-6 Abstain, 7-9 YES  [Simply reply all to vote]  It is also important to note that we voted based on the legal parameters of the project, and try not to discriminate in anyway on the importance of the project itself, or its relationship to other projects.

This is an optional vote for everyone except for those on the CLN & WC.TC Boards, but everyone is encouraged to vote and input their perspective.

Let me know if you have questions.

Thanks,

Jay

3. Description of Project

The purpose of the foundation is to create open source technological infrastructure and tools for communities to design and implement new generation of adaptive and cooperative economical and financial systems, and their necessary legal and organisational support structures, with the core values of autonomy, abundance, safety, disintermediation and privacy.

The tasks of the foundation include:
  • Research, development and funding of technologies that enable these goals.
  • Host for the IP related to the open source projects it hosts in a resilient and trusted manner.
  • Promote these technologies and tools, and educate the community on their use.
  • Function as a nexus point for other organisations with aligned goals and values.
  • To make its goals a multi-organizational effort and build a vibrant ecosystem around them.
  • To provide its member organizations with high priority access to its tools, including relevant support and education.
  • To raise fund and other resources for these purposes, to manage and allocate the resources.

3.b - Legal Issues:

The foundation can have employees and engage contractors for the achievement of its goals. It can also hand out grants to individuals and organisations that further its goals.
The foundation will form formal and informal relationships with other organisations, including non-profits and companies. The nature of such relationships will be determined by the board.
The software and other IP designed and developed by the foundation will be released exclusively under OSI compliant licenses.  The focal point of the project is the creation of the technology, not necessarily the actual implementation. Additionally the project may be applying to sponsor foreign workers to support the tech coding and oversight.

The foundation has been discussed with the purpose of hosting  DistributedJS, and the related projects that it may enable, but as an organization we are new.
