“Be grateful. Be humble. Be kind.”
Tracy Brown

Too often as leaders we think the most important thing is to be
smart. Or powerful. Or invincible. Or the best.
But the best leaders I ever met were grateful, humble and kind.
Now, don’t get me wrong. They were smart and powerful too. They
often stood out as the best, or one of the best, in their areas of
expertise. But what made them leaders others appreciated, respected
and looked up to was their ability to treat everyone with
kindness.
They were not so “full of themselves” that they believed they were
better than others. They understood their success was built on the
currencies of trust and respect.
They did not always achieve every goal they set. But even in
failure they were kind to others. They looked at the failure as a
learning opportunity or a call to set a new strategy. They looked
forward not backward; and they never held grudges or set out to get
revenge.
Great leaders are grateful for the opportunities they are given.
They demonstrate humility and they are kind in words and action.
Think . . . and act . . . like a leader!
