Dear All,

I know that you are almost bored seeing my e-mails :) (not the content of the mail but seeing it every now and then...). Let me give you a snapshot of my experience here till Friday, that is today...

It was a hassle free journey from my room to Bangalore airport to Dubai airport. A little bit trouble was there in Dubai airport where there was a loooooooooooooooooooong queue for Eye Scan. You need to scan your eyes there, then only you can go further...eyes are like your finger prints...they are unique. Otherwise things were fine and cool. Brothers came to pick me and we drove to his house. It is a 1BHK in the 14th floor of the building in front of Thavuun Mall which is famous here in Sharjah area. Dubai from here is just 30 mnts drive but in traffic more than 1 hr. So daily we have to START from here at 7 am UAE time. So that we can drop brother's daughter in her school and brother could reach his office before 8.30 am.

After seeing life here at least for my brothers and for my other relatives here and also seeing the traffic here...I will never complain the life in Bangalore. It is heaven-like in Bangalore...it is a very busy life here...people are happy but still not happy kind! I will tell it is really great that I am staying with brother....because at least for me it is good, even though I sleep on sofa in the hall :)

Life for me starts at 6 to 7 here. Directly I will go to Diera City Center Metro Station. Sit in the metro station and plan the day. Metro is cheap and also bus here. They have debit card kind of thing which we need charge and if you swipe you can get into metro and public bus here. People are friendly, there are strict rules especially for traffic. Once the light for WALKING is on for people who need to cross the road, we can actually close your eyes and cross the road....you can be assured that no vehicle moves a bit after signal goes RED here. But never attempt to cross the main roads when the signal is green...because you never know from which side the vehicle will come from... :)

First couple of days I traveled the length and breadth of Dubai city in Metro seeing almost all the building which we used to see in FORWARDED mails...city is very very clean and at least it is Bangalore-like climate now. Thank God that I landed in the morning here on Saturday. It was heavy rain here that night that flights didn't land here in the night...flights landed in some other airports!

Magically I was never late for any meeting except for Itqaan one - that was not a planned meeting and I had to travel 3 hours kind to Abu Dhabi. I have at least explored many areas here alone :) (i am a person who never understands the direction...but here there are many FIRSTs here....first time in flight, first time in metro, etc...).

You can see all kind of nationals here...everybody minding their own business. Taxi seems to be expensive here...so my journey is normally in metro...and most of the times, my brother drops me wherever I wants in the morning. It is a great support from his side, we actually discuss things here...and suggests things...

Client meeting you have already seen :) let me not bore you with those things again...now I have found a new way to access internet for free here. Metro has a stop here in Airport terminal. So what I will do is that whenever needed, I will go there and get a sandwich and browse internet from the airport...many comes there for the same and they have certain area where people come and sit for hours together and browse...and till now, it was only once I have seen or eaten any rice (first day here) otherwise it is mainly burgers, juice, etc. You are on the move, you have to adjust with them.

Today being Friday, it will probably be nice Biriyani. :) Almost all the taxi drivers are mainly people from Pakistan, then Bangladesh and then India. Very friendly people. One thing I noticed is that from taxi driver to CEO of companies talks about the recession here. They are hoping that recession will get over within few months... Radio like in Bangalore is another hit. the hours people spent on traffic people spend with radio....

More reports soon :)

Regards,
Nibras
