"You will have much more success leading someone where you would
like them to go than pushing them where you haven't been."

"Go! Go! Go! Go! Go!"
or
"Let's go! Let's go! Let's go!"
Which leader would YOU follow? The one who tells you to go out and
do something he or she thinks you should do . . . or the leader who
is right there with you saying let's combine forces and achieve the
goal together?
If you're like most of us you have more respect for the leader who
has either done what she's asking you to do or who is taking the
journey WITH you.
More often than not people could offer no helpful guidance because
they had no idea how to explain the necessity or the value of the
assigned project or task. And both of these managers would insist
the project be done a certain way that seemed to make sense to them
even though they might never have done it before.
Great leaders know passion and participation must work together to
engage and energize the team effort.
