Missing I/O in L1

Since the base language L1 has no procedures, I'm presuming that means
it also has no procedure calls, which means it has no input/output in
it. Strange for a language. I suggest that the L1 description be
changed to say "without procedure definitions", leaving procedure
calls in so that the built-ins like "Read" and "Write" can still be
used.

Jim,
Good point. I think your proposed solution is the way to go.
Anyone else have any thoughts on this?
