I was at the Nat'l Archives in DC recently doing some genealogy
research. It would have been nice to bring in at least my family
tree. Has anyone ported any of the basic tools to the Droid phone?

Thanks,

Steve

I can't respond to using the phone.. but it is REALLY easy to put PAF on a USB drive (along with your data) and use any Windoze machine.

You might look at Family Bee.  It is still a work in progress, but it looks like it will be pretty nice.

Thanks for the reference, I'll take a peek.

For those that may not be familiar, the Android phone is a Linux 2.6
distro with Java as the application programming language (C/C++
underneath). Given that, some of the apps developed by this forum's
users may not be too difficult to port.

My developers have enjoyed programming for this device. It's a breath
of fresh air if you've ever programmed for the LG Chocolate type of
phones...
