Dearest Chaplains, Chaplain Assistants, Youth Leaders, and all members,

 

Blessed feast day of Saint Bernard, Abbot and Doctor of the Church, to you and yours! 

Trong bài giáo lý tại buổi tiếp kiến chung sáng thứ Tư hôm nay, Đức Thánh Cha Lêô XIV đã chia sẻ suy tư về tình yêu tha thứ của Chúa Giêsu qua đoạn Tin Mừng Thánh Gioan chương 13 câu 1-5. Ngài nhắn nhủ chúng ra rằng tình yêu của Chúa Giêsu mạnh mẽ hơn hận thù. Đức Thánh Cha khích lệ các tín hữu khi phải chịu thương tổn và phản bội, hãy xin ơn có thể tha thứ thật sự, ngay cả khi cảm thấy mình không được thấu hiểu hay bị bỏ rơi, hoặc ngay cả khi dường như điều đó trở nên vô ích. Chính nhờ đó, chúng ta mới có thể cảm nếm sự tự do và bình an phát xuất từ một tấm lòng biết yêu thương và tha thứ.

Following the General Audience today, our Holy Father appealed to us “to devote the day of 22 August to fasting and prayer, imploring the Lord to grant us peace and justice, and to dry the tears of those who suffer as a result of the ongoing armed conflicts. May Mary, Queen of Peace, intercede so that people may find the path to peace.”

 

In union with the Pope and the Universal Church, the National Executive Committee invites all VEYM members to unite fervently in prayer, abstinence, and fasting for peace on the Memorial of Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary this Friday.  Kindly continue to pray for our Holy Father and his monthly intention as well. Thank you!

 

The following are reminders of the on-going initiatives of VEYM: 

 

1. Back to Sinh Hoạt Challenge:

• Please make a short video to showcase your chapter’s back to sinh hoạt day.
• Post on your chapter’s Facebook page and tag VEYM-USA.
• The chapter with the most votes (like/heart) will be awarded $300.
• Deadline: September 30th, 2025.

The Pope's Monthly Intention for August 2025: For mutual coexistence.  Let us pray that societies where coexistence seems more difficult might not succumb to the temptation of confrontation for ethnic, political, religious, or ideological reasons.
